    Program Description:

    RMU's Elementary Education program gives you the necessary background, understanding, and skills for a rewarding job in teaching in which you can foster a rich learning environment for your students.

    It is important to develop a meaningful educational philosophy and know how children learn in order to implement successful teaching practices and sound pedagogy. Elementary education students at RMU are given an effective blend of content, technology, learning theory, methodology and practical field experiences.

    The Special Education program at RMU prepares you with the knowledge base, skills, and competencies you need to meet the needs of students with disabilities, as well as the ability to work in various settings. In addition, our education faculty members are specialists in their areas of expertise, and all have related work experience as practitioners in the field, such as principals, superintendents, and teachers. 

    Special Education Certification, PreK–8, can be paired with either Early Childhood or Middle Level Certification by taking 15 additional special education credits.
