What is Accreditation?
Both traditional "brick and mortar" institutions and online programs can apply for and receive national, state and regional accreditation from one of several accrediting agencies.

Universities wanting to attain a regional accreditation from a recognized accrediting agency undergo a serious review encompassing several different aspects of the college's operations. The review looks at how the university provides a wide range of services, including faculty qualifications, overall cost, research capabilities, and student services.
